The IT CXO today needs to manage more than technology. S/he needs to gain managerial support as well as manage up, get buy-in from other departments, groups or individuals. S/he also requires ability to convince and influence other stakeholders to follow the regional and global direction. Besides, s/he needs to put in ongoing effort to enhance the department position in the organization to add more value to the organization in both operational and strategic perspective. How are current and upcoming IT CXOs developing and honing these skills?
